Major Edward “EJ” Dupont is the S2 or intelligence officer; the irony of this is not lost on the other team members.
This is Major Dupont’s second tour in Iraq as a Military Transition Team intelligence officer; if he screws it up again this time, he may be back for a third.
As part of his duties, he is supposed to be the cultural expert on Iraq so he is diligently studying the intricacies and nuances of the Hindu religion. His likes include soccer, useless facts, pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and baskets of kittens; his dislikes include terrorists, slow drivers in the fast lane, broccoli and badgers.
Major Dupont is a procrastinating, apathetic pseudo-intellectual; it is widely accepted that his only positive attribute is his family (wife Catie, 12-year-old daughter Olivia and 7-year-old son Max).
Major Dupont is looking forward to his follow-on assignment in Vicenza, Italy – Italy is similar to Iraq in many ways (old, dirty, etc.) but with more dangerous roads.
